Tools 4 School

When a student has the school supplies they need, they are more motivated, have higher self-esteem, and enjoy a better learning experience. But we understand that it can be difficult for guardians to choose between purchasing school supplies and the essentials.

Tools 4 School helps ensure that students in and around Ponoka receive the educational supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.

Collection and distribution of much-needed school supplies for distribution in Ponoka and area.

This program brings together community agencies, educational institutions, corporate supporters, the general public, and the media to donate school supplies to children in need.

How Does Tools 4 School Work?

You can donate school supplies or money at different local businesses throughout Ponoka. Coin jars for cash donations and boxes for purchased items labelled with the Ponoka FCSS Tools for Schools logo are throughout town. Funds gathered go towards purchasing supplies to supplement items donated. All donations are given out according to the supplies lists given by teachers.

Tools 4 School is run in communities all across Alberta; however, donations made in Ponoka will be used locally.

Major donations for this program are much appreciated. We have received support from corporate, individual, and anonymous donors, which we are very appreciative of.

Students in Need Accessing Donated Supplies

There are two ways that students can obtain the school supplies they need.

1. Students can come by the Ponoka FCSS office to “shop” for school supplies.

2. Students can ask their teachers. Currently, Ponoka County includes 12 schools under the Wolf Creek Public School division and four privately run schools. All schools are aware of the program and will let Ponoka FCSS know if they have students in need. We send the donations to the schools, and the teachers provide the supplies to the students in need
